Gas Theft Attempt Turns Sour: A Tale of Karma
A Criminal Plan Goes Awry
Gas theft has been a nuisance since the inception of gas tanks in vehicles. It’s hard not to believe in karma when you come across stories like the one involving a group of thieves attempting to steal gas in Australia.
The story begins with the criminals deciding to steal petrol from a tour bus during the night. According to a Daily Mail report, everything seemed to be going smoothly for the thieves until the situation took a turn for the worse.
“They were successful in inserting the hose and initiating the sucking motion in order to extract the gas.”
A Stinky Mistake
However, the robbers realized too late that they had inserted the siphoning pipe in the wrong location, leading to them siphoning from the sewage tank instead of the gas tank.
“They started siphoning directly from the sewage tank rather than sucking gas from the bus.”
Senior Sergeant Heath Soutar of the Laverton Police told The West Australian that the thieves fled the scene as fast as they could, most likely with a bitter taste in their mouths.
Karma Strikes Back
Although no suspects have been apprehended yet, it’s safe to assume that the punishment they received will not be forgotten anytime soon.
“Do you get a kick out of it when karma gets its revenge on those who have earned it by kicking them where it hurts?”
Theft, in any form, is unacceptable in society. It’s hoped that this unpleasant experience will serve as a deterrent to those responsible for the crime and prevent them from engaging in such activities in the future.
