How Victoria Principal looks at 74

“Dallas,” the quintessential primetime soap opera, holds a special place in my heart, especially because of Victoria Principal’s portrayal of Pamela Barnes Ewing. Alongside Larry Hagman’s compelling performance as J.R. Ewing, she made the show a must-watch.

Victoria, who recently celebrated her 74th birthday, continues to captivate audiences with her timeless beauty and multifaceted talents. Throughout her illustrious career, she has excelled as an actress, author, producer, and skincare entrepreneur.

Victoria’s early life was marked by constant relocation due to her father’s military service. Born in Japan, she spent her childhood in various locations, attending a staggering 17 different schools. Despite the challenges, she embarked on her professional journey at a young age, landing her first television commercial at the age of five.

Initially pursuing a career in medicine, Victoria’s path took a dramatic turn after a life-altering car accident during her college years. Following her recovery, she shifted gears to pursue acting and eventually found success in New York City and later in Los Angeles.

Her breakthrough role came in John Huston’s “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean,” where she starred alongside Paul Newman. Despite early successes, Victoria faced setbacks and struggled to find fulfilling roles in Hollywood.

However, her life changed dramatically when she landed the role of Pamela Barnes Ewing in “Dallas.” Victoria’s portrayal of the character resonated with audiences worldwide, making her a household name and solidifying her status as a Hollywood icon.

During her nine-year tenure on “Dallas,” Victoria earned critical acclaim and nominations for prestigious awards. Her on-screen chemistry with Larry Hagman added depth to the show, captivating viewers with their dynamic performances.

Despite her success on “Dallas,” Victoria made the difficult decision to leave the series in 1987. Citing creative differences and a desire to pursue other ventures, she departed from the show, leaving behind a lasting legacy.

Following her departure from “Dallas,” Victoria focused on her skincare company, Principal Secret, which became a thriving business venture. With her entrepreneurial spirit and determination, she built a skincare empire that generated significant revenue.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Victoria is actively involved in philanthropy, supporting causes close to her heart. Her foundation, The Victoria Principal Foundation for Thoughtful Existence, makes impactful contributions to various charitable initiatives.

While her personal life has seen its share of ups and downs, including two marriages and divorces, Victoria remains resilient and optimistic. Today, at 71 years old, she continues to inspire others with her grace, kindness, and unwavering passion for life.

As we celebrate Victoria Principal’s remarkable journey, let us applaud her contributions to the entertainment industry and admire her commitment to making a difference in the world.
