Tim McGraw Announces Las Vegas Shows — Filling In For Dolly Parton’s Postponed Residency

Country superstar Tim McGraw is heading to Las Vegas this December — and fans couldn’t be more excited. The announcement comes just months after the “Live Like You Were Dying” singer returned to the stage following a year-long recovery from multiple major surgeries.

A Comeback After Major Health Setbacks

During a recent appearance on The Bobby Bones Show, McGraw revealed that his absence from touring was due to extensive medical recovery.

“I was in the process of recovering from my knee surgeries when my back went out again and I had to have another back surgery,” he shared.

After undergoing a double knee replacement and a subsequent back operation, McGraw has since made a steady return to performing, playing shows in Nashville, Michigan, and more over the summer. Now, the three-time Grammy winner is ready to bring his show to one of country music’s most iconic stages.

Tim McGraw Takes Over The Colosseum At Caesars Palace

On Friday, October 3, McGraw took to social media with the exciting news:

“Vegas!! I’m coming to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace this December 4–13!”

His limited run will see him perform in the same world-class venue that has hosted some of the biggest names in entertainment — including Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Shelton, and Rod Stewart.

Filling In For Dolly Parton’s Postponed Residency

McGraw’s upcoming shows coincide with the dates originally scheduled for Dolly Parton’s much-anticipated Las Vegas residency, which was recently postponed due to health concerns.

Parton announced earlier this month that she was forced to delay her six-show run at The Colosseum after her doctors advised her to undergo “a few procedures.”

“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges,” Parton told fans. “I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts.”

The legendary singer joked that it must be time for her “100,000-mile checkup,” assuring fans she simply needed time to rest and recover.

McGraw Steps In On Four of Dolly’s Dates

To the delight of fans, Tim McGraw will now take over four of the dates originally set for Parton — December 4, 6, 12, and 13 — keeping the spirit of country music alive at Caesars Palace this winter.

With its 4,100-seat capacity, The Colosseum remains one of the most prestigious stages in Las Vegas, known for its exceptional acoustics and intimate fan experience.

    A Full-Circle Moment

For McGraw, this run of shows marks both a celebration of recovery and a continuation of his storied career — one that’s defined by resilience, timeless hits, and deep connection to fans.

After nearly three decades of touring, it’s clear the country icon isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Tim McGraw: Live at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace kicks off December 4, 2025 — and fans are already calling it one of the must-see country events of the year.
