14-Year-Old Vinya Chhabra Stuns ‘The Voice’ Coaches With Powerful Alanis Morissette Cover

The pressure is mounting as The Voice Season 28 Blind Auditions near their end, but one young contestant proved she could handle the heat with remarkable poise. On Monday night’s episode (October 6), 14-year-old Vinya Chhabra delivered an unforgettable performance that earned her a three-chair turn — and the admiration of millions watching at home.

A Confident Young Performer With Big Talent

Stepping onto the stage with calm confidence, Vinya tackled Alanis Morissette’s 1996 classic “Ironic.” Despite her age, she brought a level of emotional depth and stage presence that immediately drew the coaches’ attention.

Her background likely helped: Chhabra is a classically trained concert pianist who has performed at Carnegie Hall and is active in musical theater — experience that clearly paid off during her poised, pitch-perfect audition.

Coaches React: “You Pack a Powerful Punch”

Reba McEntire was the first coach to turn her chair, followed soon after by Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, who hit his button just before the song ended.

“You pack a powerful punch at your age,” Snoop told her. “You’re not nervous. You’re not afraid. That’s superstar quality.”

Reba was equally impressed, calling Vinya a “powerhouse” and praising both her natural tone and her attitude. “Vinya really had great range, great tone, and the young contestants on this show are like sponges,” she said later. “They really wanna learn. They really wanna grow.”

    Choosing Team Reba

When it came time to choose a coach, Vinya’s parents joined her on stage — a sweet reminder that this was a family moment as much as a career one. After some thought, the teen chose to join Team Reba, delighting the country legend and earning a standing ovation from the audience.

    A Star In the Making

Teen contestants have a strong track record on The Voice: winners like Brynn Cartelli (Season 14), Carter Rubin (Season 19), Danielle Bradbery (Season 4), Sawyer Fredericks (Season 8), and Chevel Shepherd (Season 15) all took home the trophy before turning 17. With her vocal control and fearless stage presence, Vinya Chhabra may be on her way to joining that list.

Watch her stunning “Ironic” audition from The Voice below — and remember the name Vinya Chhabra. You’ll likely be hearing it for years to come.
