Kane Brown and Wife Katelyn Turn Their Hit Duet “Thank God” Into a Lifetime Christmas Movie

When Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn released their first duet, “Thank God,” on September 12, 2022, they had no idea it would grow into one of the biggest hits — and eventually inspire a holiday film.

The romantic ballad, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in February 2023, made history as only the second duet by a married couple to top that chart. The first? Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “It’s Your Love” back in 1997.

A Love Song That Became a Career Milestone

Though Katelyn Brown had her own background in music before marrying Kane, “Thank God” marked their first official collaboration. The pair performed it live at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, where they also took home the coveted Video of the Year award.

Since then, the song has gone 3× Platinum, selling over three million units, and the music video — directed by Alex Alvga — has become a fan favorite. Set against a tropical backdrop, it shows the couple exchanging loving glances as they sing the lyrics that mirror their real-life romance.

While Katelyn doesn’t join every stop on Kane’s tours, fans know that whenever she does, there’s a good chance she’ll take the stage to sing “Thank God.” One of the most memorable performances came at Fenway Park in Boston, where the couple shared a heartfelt duet before thousands of cheering fans.

“Thank God” Is Coming to Lifetime as a Christmas Movie

Now, Kane and Katelyn are taking their song from the stage to the screen. The couple recently announced that “Thank God” will be adapted into a Lifetime Christmas movie titled Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch.

Though the Browns won’t appear in the film, they’ll both serve as Executive Producers — ensuring that the story captures the same warmth and spirit as the song itself.

In a statement shared with Billboard, they said:

“The song ‘Thank God’ is so special to us. We love performing it on stage and it’s incredible how it’s connected to so many fans. We also really love Christmas and celebrating as a family. So for these two worlds to collide, we couldn’t be more excited!”

The movie stars Arielle Kebbel and Tyler Hilton, with Hilton playing a professional hockey player who suffers an injury just weeks before Christmas. During his recovery, he travels to Keller Ranch, where he meets an equestrian-assisted therapist, played by Kebbel, who helps him rediscover faith, healing, and love.

A Story That Reflects the Spirit of the Song

Executive Producer Adam Reed praised the film’s emotional depth, saying:

“This film captures and translates to the screen the soul and wildly universal themes behind Kane and Katelyn’s hit duet. Their music evokes a feeling that has attracted millions of fans around the world, and it’s a gift to work with them and our partners at Lifetime to bring this movie to life.”

Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming for A&E, Lifetime, and LMN, added:

“We are thrilled to have the incredibly talented Kane and Katelyn Brown join our Lifetime holiday family. Their music not only touches the heart but also tells a story, and we are excited to transform those stories into an extraordinary movie experience.”

    What’s Next

While Lifetime has not yet announced a release date for Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch, fans can expect it to premiere as part of the network’s upcoming holiday movie lineup.

From a chart-topping duet to a heartwarming Christmas film, “Thank God” continues to prove that Kane and Katelyn Brown’s partnership — in life and art — is truly something to celebrate.
