Nicole Kidman recently reflected on one of the emotionally conflicted moments of her career, tied to the finalization of her divorce from Tom Cruise just before winning an Oscar in 2003 for her role in “The Hours.”

Kidman and Cruise, once considered one of Hollywood’s power couples, were married for 11 years and adopted two children together. Their divorce, however, overshadowed Kidman’s Oscar win, and she shared that the celebratory night was marred by personal turmoil.

In an interview with author Dave Karger for his book “50 Oscar Nights,” Kidman revealed that after winning the Oscar, she went home alone, ordered takeout, and ate it on the floor of the Beverly Hills Hotel. The actress expressed the realization that she needed to find love in her life, stating, “I need a love in my life. Because this is supposed to be when you go, ‘This is ours.'”

Despite the challenging period, Kidman eventually found love and happiness. Five years after her divorce from Cruise, she married Keith Urban. The couple recently celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary and shares two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
