After more than a decade of marriage, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise recently divorced, and she just opened out about the emotional fallout. Despite her personal struggles, she emphasized the night she received her first Academy Award, a moment of victory marred by them.

In 2003, Nicole Kidman reached a professional milestone when she received her first Academy Award for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in “The Hours.” At the event, she glowed with confidence as she accepted her award, but she was really a broken lady dealing with her own issues. While performing, Kidman experienced a brief breakdown before swiftly regaining her composure.

According to Dave Karger’s book “50 Oscar Nights,” Kidman acknowledged that she had personal struggles at the same time that she was having professional success. Regardless, she maintained a smile all evening long. The actress opted to head home since she was not one to stay out late. Nonetheless, she went to the Vanity Fair afterparty because her coworkers convinced her to.

Looking back, she recalled how emotionally and completely overwhelmed she felt when entering the event with the trophy in her hands. Regrettably, she was unable to completely savor the experience. She regretted things and wished she could go back in time and be happier.

Kidman and her family ate dinner on the floor of Kidman’s Beverly Hills hotel room in the late hours of the evening. After she finalized her divorce from her husband of eleven years, Tom Cruise, she found herself in bed by herself before midnight.

Kidman fell head over heels with country music sensation Keith Urban two years later. Since then, things have been looking up for her. The actress has discovered happiness and comfort in her relationship with Urban, whom she is now married to.

In an interview from 2021, Kidman spoke highly of Urban, saying that he helped her stay grounded. “I mean, I honestly wouldn’t be here without him, so I say that with incredible love and gratitude,” added the woman. “I can always count on him. To me, he is everything.

Even though they are well-known in the entertainment sector, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban keep their personal life private. They keep their two daughters out of the limelight while they raise them and only tell them about their infrequent sightings.
