Why Derek Hough Thought His Friendship With Jennifer Lopez Was Over

Derek Hough Recalls Hilarious Dance Mishap with Jennifer Lopez

Derek Hough, the Dancing With the Stars judge, shared a humorous yet nerve-wracking incident from his past, revealing a dance mishap involving the iconic Jennifer Lopez during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Hough recounted a salsa dancing episode with Lopez several years ago, where a signature move, a dip, went awry. As he dipped Lopez, he accidentally stepped on her hair, causing a chaotic moment. To his relief, Lopez managed to handle the situation gracefully, seamlessly picking up her hair without missing a beat.

Reenacting the incident on the talk show, Hough humorously described the mishap, expressing his initial cluelessness about what had transpired. Later that night, Lopez informed him of the hair-pulling incident, but to Hough’s surprise, she extended an invitation for a collaborative project the next day.

Hough, who served as a judge on World of Dance alongside Lopez, reflected on the incident with laughter, expressing relief that their friendship endured the mishap. The two shared the screen on the NBC reality dance competition, which concluded in 2021 after four seasons.

The interview shed light on the lighter side of their professional relationship and showcased Lopez’s ability to handle unexpected moments with grace and humor. The anecdote added a touch of lightheartedness to their friendship, emphasizing the resilience and camaraderie between the two entertainers.
