‘DWTS’ Star Derek Hough Dedicates Emmy & Heartfelt Words To His Wife As She Recovers From Skull Surgery
Professional dancer and choreographer Derek Hough dedicated his Emmy Award win to his wife, Hayley Erbert, who is currently recovering from skull surgery. During his acceptance speech, Hough emotionally expressed gratitude for Erbert’s strength and courage throughout her health journey. He reflected on the life-changing moment when Erbert was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma in December, emphasizing the importance of cherishing every moment.
Last night, “DWTS” alum Derek Hough, 38, was seen flying solo at the Emmys as his wife, Hayley Erbert, continues on her journey to recovery after her craniectomy. Hough experienced an emotional moment during his acceptance speech after he won an Emmy for his work on the popular TV show.
Hough, who had just flown in from Washington, D.C., dedicated the Emmy to his “beautiful wife,” praising her for inspiring him every day. Prior to the awards ceremony, Hough shared a video on Instagram highlighting the highs and lows of their year, including Erbert’s health challenges. The couple, who married in August 2023, had been on tour when Erbert experienced health complications that led to her skull surgery.
Despite the challenging journey, Hough and Erbert celebrated their love and commitment to each other. Hough has been providing health updates on Erbert’s recovery and shared moments of their Christmas together at home following her successful operation.
