Warren Zeiders Shocked the Nation With a Powerful Live Performance for Troops at the D.C. Military Parade

Warren Zeiders Performs at U.S. Army’s 250th Anniversary Parade — And Leaves Broadcasters Hilariously Confused

Warren Zeiders was among the featured performers at the U.S. Army’s 250th Anniversary Parade on Saturday (June 14), an event that also doubled as President Trump’s unofficial 79th birthday celebration.

Held in Washington, D.C., the parade drew massive crowds, with the front rows filled by uniformed service members. Vice President J.D. Vance and other officials were also in attendance as Zeiders took the stage.

The rising country star performed his hit “Pretty Little Poison” as well as “Ride the Lightning,” the 2022 breakout single that first launched him into the spotlight. Speaking to the crowd and to viewers watching on the live broadcast, Zeiders admitted he was nervous but grateful for the honor, offering birthday wishes to both the U.S. Army and the president.

The parade aired live on television and was also streamed on the White House’s official YouTube channel, where Zeiders’ performance begins around the 2:12:00 mark.

According to USA Today, the musical lineup for the event was intentionally small. Alongside Zeiders, Lee Greenwood performed his iconic “God Bless the USA” following Trump’s remarks, while rising artist Noah Hicks also took the stage.
Former Army infantry soldier Scotty Hasting, who has spoken publicly about using music as therapy during his recovery from wartime injuries and PTSD, delivered a moving performance as well.

Additional entertainment came from military ensembles, including the U.S. Army Drill Team, the U.S. Army Band: Latin Music Ensemble, and the U.S. Army Band: Downrange, rounding out a patriotic afternoon in the nation’s capital.

But one of the most unexpected—and most viral—moments came courtesy of the parade’s live commentators.

As Zeiders launched into “Ride the Lightning,” the broadcasters found themselves scrambling on-air, unsure who they were watching:

“I don’t know who this is singing right now, and I probably should,” one host admitted with a laugh.

A few seconds later, another voice chimed in:

“Warren Zeiders. That’s what we’re told.”

Still unconvinced, the first commentator guessed again:

“Wallen Zeiders? I think it was Wallen.”

Cue the perfect deadpan comeback from the co-host:

    “Time for the Google.”

The clip quickly made its rounds online, with fans sharing the moment and joking about the confusion. As one viewer wrote, “When the broadcasters don’t know Warren Zeiders… but every country fan at home does.”

Zeiders himself hasn’t commented publicly on the mix-up, but the reaction only added to the buzz surrounding his performance — a fitting moment during what has already been a landmark year for the 26-year-old artist.
