Warren Zeiders Shares Powerful Rendition of “How Great Thou Art” to Refocus Listeners on the Meaning of Christmas

Country artist Warren Zeiders has released a striking new version of the beloved hymn “How Great Thou Art,” offering fans a reminder of the true meaning of the Christmas season. Though the hymn dates back to 19th-century Sweden and has crossed genres for generations, Zeiders brings a fresh, rock-tinged country sound that transforms it into a moving ballad.

The song carries deep personal significance for him. Upon announcing the release on October 31, Zeiders shared that the hymn has long held an emotional place in his family:

“I can’t tell you the amount of times this song has left me crying my eyes out, because of the connection I have to this song. It’s my father’s favorite hymnal, as well as my grandmother’s, and my grandfather’s who I unfortunately never got to meet.”

Zeiders said he first played the finished recording for his family — a moment filled with tears of joy. Fans had also been requesting his version for quite some time, which encouraged him to release it as his Christmas song for the year.

“It’s not traditionally a Christmas song, but I think we can make it one,” he wrote. “So when we are with our friends and families this year, we can gather around and honor and glorify our Heavenly Father and celebrate the true meaning behind Christmas.”

A Landmark Year for Warren Zeiders

Zeiders’ recording arrives at the end of what has been one of the most significant years of his career. In 2025, he was invited to the White House by President Donald Trump, and later performed at the military parade commemorating 250 years of the United States Army.

Adding to that list of milestones, Zeiders also delivered multiple televised performances of the hymn.

On December 11, Zeiders returned to The Kelly Clarkson Show, where he performed the hymn on a Christmas-themed stage accompanied by Clarkson’s house band, My Band Y’all. His previous visit to the show had led to a humorous back-and-forth with Clarkson, who again welcomed him warmly and asked about his upcoming first-ever world tour.

A Special Performance at the National Christmas Tree Lighting

Just days earlier, Zeiders performed “How Great Thou Art” at the 2025 National Christmas Tree Lighting on December 4 at the White House — one of the most high-profile holiday events in the country. The performance marked another meaningful chapter in his growing connection to faith-centered music and national ceremonies.

Zeiders also shared moments from his visit to the White House with his parents as they celebrated the start of the Christmas season together.
