Ella Langley Closes Her Tour with a Surprise Morgan Wallen Duet at the Ryman
A Night to Remember in Nashville
Fans packed Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on Friday night (November 7) for what was set to be the grand finale of Ella Langley’s Still Hungover tour — but the evening turned into something far more special. In a surprise move, the 26-year-old country star invited Morgan Wallen on stage for a duet that left the crowd in awe.
A Historic First: “Cover Me Up” as a Duet
Rather than singing one of their own chart-toppers, Ella and Morgan performed Jason Isbell’s “Cover Me Up” — a song Morgan famously made his own on Dangerous: The Double Album. But this performance stood apart: it was the first time Morgan had ever sung the song as a duet.

Their harmonies transformed the beloved ballad into something raw and emotional — a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration that made history for everyone inside the Ryman that night.
Two Tours in the Making
Before welcoming Morgan to the stage, Ella revealed that this moment had been a long time coming.
“I’ve been trying to convince him to sing this with me for so long,” she told the crowd. “It’s taken two whole tours to make it happen.”
When Morgan appeared, he couldn’t resist a playful jab:
“Yeah, it takes a lot more than an awards show to get me out to Broadway these days,” he joked, referencing his absence from recent events like the CMA Awards.
Morgan’s Quiet Year in the Spotlight
The appearance was notable for another reason — Morgan has kept a low profile lately. Despite being crowned Entertainer of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards, the 32-year-old didn’t acknowledge the win until four months later. His return to the stage alongside Ella felt like a rare, personal moment shared with fans rather than the industry.

Ella’s Big Wins and Bigger Dreams
The Ryman show capped off a massive year for Ella Langley. At the 2024 CMA Awards, she took home Musical Event of the Year for her hit duet “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green. And on Friday, she treated fans to another standout collaboration — performing “Never Met Anyone Like You” live with HARDY.
A Bittersweet Farewell to the Hungover Era
After the final curtain fell, Ella reflected on the milestone moment with heartfelt words on social media:
“Night two at @theryman & the very last show of the Hungover era… Thank you, Nashville. I’ll never forget these shows.”
It was a fitting close to a defining chapter in her young career — a night of gratitude, surprise, and unforgettable music shared between friends and fans alike.
