Riley Green Becomes the Face of Gildan in New Underwear Campaign
Riley Green has teamed up with Gildan, the well-known brand behind everyday basics like t-shirts and underwear, as their newest brand ambassador. The collaboration launched on August 5, 2023—National Underwear Day—and will continue throughout the year.
In Gildan’s newest campaign video, the Alabama-born country star confidently shows off his physique in a sleek black pair of Gildan boxer briefs. The ad follows Green through a high-energy workout before he throws on a classic white Gildan tee and strums his acoustic guitar, joking with nearby models, “Are you sure you don’t need me to take my shirt off?”
“Whether it’s a packed show, a tough workout, or a long day on the farm, Gildan keeps me comfortable no matter what I’m doing,” Green shared in a press release. “Life gets hectic, and teaming up with Gildan just made sense for me.”
A Natural Fit for the Brand
Chuck Ward, Gildan’s President of Sales, Marketing, and Distribution, expressed his excitement about the partnership. “We’re proud to welcome Riley Green as our brand ambassador for National Underwear Day,” Ward said. “We’re thrilled he’s chosen to wear our gear on tour, on stage, and in day-to-day life. With live music being such a passion for our customers, this collaboration allows us to connect in a fun, meaningful way.”
Green will showcase Gildan’s t-shirts, underwear, and socks during concerts, workouts, and behind-the-scenes moments—all captured in exclusive videos and social media content. To mark the campaign kickoff, Gildan offered discounts on Green’s favorite products via Amazon on August 5 and hosted men’s underwear giveaways through their official Instagram.

The Photo Shoot: A First for Green
Riley Green first hinted at his modeling role in an interview on The Bobby Bones Show. While keeping the brand under wraps at the time, he revealed that he’d recently done a photo shoot for an underwear campaign.
“I went to the studio, recorded a couple of songs, then did a photo shoot for an underwear brand,” he told Bones.
When asked if he was “just in underwear,” Green coyly replied, “We’ll see.” Jokingly, he added, “We’re for sale.”
Later, co-host Amy Brown asked if the shoot was uncomfortable. “Very,” Green admitted. “They had me doing a lot of different things. I wasn’t in underwear the whole time—there were t-shirts and socks too.”
An Unexpected New Lane
Green acknowledged this wasn’t a direction he expected for his career. “It’s different. Not something I thought I’d be doing at 34,” he said with a laugh.
On Tour with Luke Combs
At the time of the campaign’s launch, Green had just wrapped his support slot on Luke Combs’ 2023 World Tour, which kicked off in March and ended with a massive show in Philadelphia. Green reflected on the experience, saying, “There’s a big learning curve playing stadiums like that. But it’s been amazing getting in front of 50,000-plus people. Luke’s fan base is wild, and they really connect with my kind of music.”
Each night, Green joined Combs onstage for a live duet of “Does To Me,” originally recorded by Combs and Eric Church.
New Duet: “Different ‘Round Here”
Green and Combs also teamed up for a new version of Green’s hit “Different ‘Round Here,” originally released in 2019. Their reimagined duet highlights themes of hard work, small-town pride, and patriotism—values both artists are known for. Upon its release to country radio, the song scored 85 first-week adds and became BMLG Records’ biggest radio add day in years.

Green commented, “We’ve seen military families, athletes, and everyday folks use this song in their own videos. That kind of connection is what it’s all about.”
What’s Next
The updated version of “Different ‘Round Here” was produced by Dan Huff and written by Green alongside Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton. With added production and a powerful message, the track continues to resonate with fans across the country.
In addition to the Gildan campaign and recent tour, Riley Green is set to perform at several festivals and fairs, including the Voices of America Country Music Fest, Boots and Hearts 2023, and Bulls, Bands, and Barrels.
