Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough faced off against Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess in a high-energy Samba dance-off. The two couples showcased their rhythmic prowess to Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s “Lean On,” delivering performances that captivated both the judges and the audience.

As preparations for the upcoming Dancing With The Stars finale reached their peak, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough shared a heartfelt farewell hug on Wednesday afternoon after leaving their final rehearsal. The two have developed a close friendship throughout the season, and this moment marked the culmination of their hard work as they prepared for the grand final.

Bindi, dressed in a black printed T-shirt and leggings, appeared a little weary after an intense rehearsal, holding her trusty Nike trainers in one hand while her sock-clad feet padded back to her mother Terri’s car. Derek, looking casual in an oversized green cardigan and flat cap, wrapped an arm around Bindi’s shoulder, offering a warm farewell before she climbed into the passenger seat.

Earlier, Bindi had shared a touching tribute to Derek on Instagram, calling him “the greatest big brother” she could ask for and thanking him for changing her life. “You’ve changed my life,” she wrote, expressing deep gratitude for his constant support and encouragement throughout their time together on the show.

Bindi also posted a heartfelt message thanking Derek for making every day in the studio fun, even when she was tired. She praised his ability to inspire her to keep pushing, writing, “Even when I’m super tired he gives me strength and encourages me to keep trying my best and always believe.”

The duo had been working tirelessly on their performances, with their most recent dance—a salsa to Sia’s “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile”—earning them an impressive score of 27 out of 30. Bindi’s stunning flapper dress with fluorescent pink fringing added to the high-energy routine. The pair also won a samba dance-off against Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, earning them an additional three points. With the highest total points of the season, Bindi and Derek head into the final with great momentum.

As always, Bindi was joined by her doting mother, Terri Irwin, who has supported her every step of the way in Los Angeles. This emotional farewell marks the end of an unforgettable journey for Bindi and Derek, as they prepare to showcase their final dance on the Dancing With The Stars stage.
