On October 4, 2016, country music’s iconic duo, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, gave a memorable performance at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. The surprise concert, held under the pseudonym “Sam & Audrey” (a nod to their given names, Samuel Timothy McGraw and Audrey Faith Perry), celebrated their musical partnership and set the stage for an exciting announcement.

The evening began with a heartfelt rendition of their 1997 hit “It’s Your Love,” which set an intimate and emotional tone for the night. Among the standout moments was their soulful cover of Bob Seger’s classic “We’ve Got Tonight.” Their harmonious vocals brought new life to the song, captivating the audience and showcasing the undeniable chemistry they share, both on and off the stage.

After the performance, Faith Hill addressed the crowd with excitement, saying, “We are going back on the road—on tour. We are going to go from side to side, South to North, all the way around the globe.” Tim McGraw added, “2017 we are going back on the road. We’re going to do a Soul2Soul Tour. We’ve been looking forward to this for a long, long time.” The announcement, which marked their first joint tour in a decade, was met with overwhelming excitement.

The Soul2Soul World Tour 2017 was set to kick off on April 7, 2017, in New Orleans, and it would take them across North America and beyond. This tour commemorated the 10th anniversary of their record-breaking Soul2Soul II tour, which remains one of the highest-grossing multi-year country music tours in history.

For fans eager to relive the magic of that night, a recording of their performance of “We’ve Got Tonight” is available below:
