Like many other children, Brooke Mills looks forward to taking a “first day of school” photo at the beginning of every new school year.
She walked outdoors to snap a picture with her mother on the first day of seventh grade.
Mills and her mother were outside snapping pictures near a tree when a man approached them.
Numerous photos had already been taken, and they all looked fantastic. The mother of Mills then saw her son.
Joy Mills, the mother of the girl, told The Dodo, “I took a closer look and saw what was there.”
A snake was perched on the tree trunk, staring directly at the seventh-grader as she played pretend.
At first, she didn’t understand why Mills’ mother had instructed her to approach her immediately.
It wasn’t until Mills was safe and away from the tree that she discovered the snake in the photo. Her mom did not want to frighten her.
She was sharing her joy with a stranger without realizing it.
“When she realized what was behind her, she was unable to speak,” Mills added. “We had no idea and were shocked to see how close he was when we saw the photos on my phone.”
It appears that the snake chose to receive some of the attention that Mills was receiving for himself.
