Jaw-dropping amount Trump’s vacations cost US taxpayers after he slams non-working holidays in fiery rant

Just after Donald Trump launched a vehement tirade against what he called excessive non-working holidays, the staggering cost of his vacations to American taxpayers was revealed.

Trump is known to enjoy vacationing in opulent locations, particularly on golf courses. During his second term, he spent a lot of time away from the White House, often retreating to his upscale Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago.

Since taking office again in January, Trump has made six trips to Mar-a-Lago by March, which is an expensive trend. Far from being straightforward vacations, these journeys have drawn criticism for placing a significant financial strain on public coffers.

Every trip costs millions of dollars, from the use of Air Force One and accompanying aircraft to the large motorcades and increased security.

Significant overtime compensation and local law enforcement’s logistical expenses are among the financial burdens.

To keep the president, his family, and his entourage safe during these relaxed weekends, Palm Beach authorities in particular have had to increase manpower and use helicopters.

The cost of these presidential trips has recently been made public by data, which coincidentally came out shortly after Trump denounced what he perceived to be an excessive number of employee vacation days.

By late March, Trump’s leisure travels had already cost taxpayers about $26 million, and by early April, that amount had risen to nearly $30 million, according to Marca.

According to a 2022 Air Force report, the cost of just running Air Force One is estimated to be $200,000 per hour. Just the two-hour trip from Washington, D.C. to Palm Beach costs nearly $1 million each way.

Trump attacked companies for taking too many holidays in spite of these expenses, claiming that America is losing money as a result of permitting so many closures. He said in a social media post:

America has far too many holidays that are off from work. Keeping all of these companies closed is costing our nation billions of dollars.

Nor do the employees want it! We will soon have a holiday on each of the year’s working days. If we want to make America great once more, things need to change.

Considering Trump’s own history of extravagant and expensive downtime, critics were quick to highlight the irony in his remarks.

Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett drew attention to the hypocrisy during a House subcommittee hearing in April, stating:

“Let’s discuss the fact that, as of March 30, Trump’s golfing has cost us about $26 million if we’re going to talk about efficiency. We are not receiving anything in exchange for that, as of the last time I checked.

A single opulent golf weekend can cost $3.4 million, according to Crockett, but one trip increased to $4.2 million because of additional helicopter transportation from Miami International Airport.

Trump’s trips to Mar-a-Lago were already costing the federal government and local governments money during his first term. According to estimates from the Government Accountability Office, these trips cost an average of $13.6 million every weekend. This does not even account for the $240,000 in overtime compensation that Palm Beach County officers receive.

In February, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw met with county commissioners to discuss the growing concern. He underlined how difficult and expensive security operations are.

“We give it to them after they ask for it. We don’t really have an option, but it’s costly,” Bradshaw said.

The county granted Trump’s “urgent request” for an additional $45 million in security funding last November. It is unlikely that this cost will stabilize anytime soon, Sheriff Bradshaw cautioned.

He told commissioners, “We’ve already heard some information that suggests he might be spending more time here than in Washington.”
He will undoubtedly bring in world leaders, as you can be sure. That represents a substantial change in the price of security.

The financial ramifications of Trump’s travels keep growing, prompting inquiries into the discrepancy between his demands for national efficiency and his personal spending patterns.
