Speaking candidly about a recent health crisis, Serena Williams disclosed that a grapefruit-sized cyst was removed from her neck.

In a TikTok video posted on Tuesday, Williams, 43, revealed that she discovered a tumor on her neck for the first time in May.

The mother of two said she discovered the cyst was benign after testing, but she still noted it “kept growing” on her skin.

Williams claimed that her physicians recommended having the cyst removed when it reached the size of a grapefruit in order to stop it from leaking or getting infected.

“So this is me removing it,” Williams wrote as the description for the video, which featured snippets of her recovering after surgery in the hospital. “I am feeli[n]g so grateful and fortunate everything worked out, and most of all, I’m healthy.”
