Closing out the year—and shattering records while doing it.

It’s been an absolutely massive year for Ella Langley, and 2025 isn’t the first time the Alabama native has rewritten the record books.

Langley has been riding a serious wave since her viral duet You Look Like You Love Me with Riley Green. That track made CMA Awards history by winning Music Video of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Song of the Year, and Single of the Year—all firsts in one sweep. And now, it looks like lightning might strike twice.

Her latest single, Choosin’ Texas, just delivered another career-defining moment—earning Langley her first-ever No. 1 hit on Billboard Hot Country Songs, jumping from No. 4 straight to the top.

Co-written with Miranda Lambert, alongside Joybeth Taylor and Luke Dick, the song dropped on October 17 and instantly became one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" jumps 4-1 on this week's Hot Country Songs chart, becoming her first career No. 1 on the chart.

Part of the buzz came from the internet doing what it does best—speculating. Fans quickly tied the song to ongoing online rumors surrounding Langley and Riley Green, fueled by the single’s artwork showing a cowboy-hatted man and a blonde woman riding in a red convertible. Before long, social media was once again churning up theories about a supposed love triangle involving Langley, Green, and Megan Moroney.

Langley, however, shut that down in classic fashion during a show in Athens, Georgia.

“This girl’s trying to get me to spill the tea on who it’s about,” she told the crowd. “Baby, I ain’t ever gonna do that. But I am gonna play the song—it’s called ‘Choosin’ Texas.’”

And honestly, who the song is about doesn’t really matter. What does matter is that it’s one of the strongest tracks she’s released to date—and fans clearly agree.

The song has been dominating both streaming platforms and radio airwaves. Miranda Lambert even shared a celebratory graphic highlighting its rapid rise, writing, “Y’all sure are Choosin’ Texas. Proud of this song, Ella Langley.”

Since its release, “Choosin’ Texas” has stacked up an impressive list of achievements:
    • Spotify and Billboard’s No. 1 Best Country Song of 2025
    • No. 1 on Apple Music’s Country chart
    • No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart
    • Four consecutive weeks as the top country song in the UK

But one stat stands out above the rest.

.@ellalangleymsic’s “Choosin’ Texas” is now the fastest climbing solo female song to reach the Top 10 at US Country Radio (Mediabase) this decade (8 weeks).

It surpasses @laineywilson’s “Watermelon Moonshine” (12 weeks). pic.twitter.com/FC0hbQKbaj

According to U.S. Radio Updater, “Choosin’ Texas” is officially the fastest solo female song of the decade to reach the Top 10 at U.S. country radio—doing it in just eight weeks. That breaks the previous record held by Lainey Wilson for “Watermelon Moonshine,” which took twelve weeks.

If that doesn’t solidify Ella Langley as a serious powerhouse in country music, it’s hard to imagine what would.

Here’s hoping she keeps them coming—because right now, everything she touches is turning to gold.
