An unexpected pairing… but honestly, I’m loving every second of it.
Back in February, Lainey Wilson joined rock icon Steven Tyler for a powerhouse performance of Aerosmith’s classic “Dream On” at the 6th Annual Jam for Janie charity event held at the Hollywood Palladium, right after the 2025 Grammy Awards.
“Dream On,” from Aerosmith’s 1973 self-titled debut album, was written by Tyler himself and went on to become the band’s first major breakthrough. Though it peaked at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100, it became a massive hometown anthem in Boston and cemented its place as a rock-and-roll staple.
Most of us know the song by heart — and considering Lainey’s love of old-school rock (she used to post rock covers all the time), this collaboration actually fits her perfectly. It’s refreshing to see her dive into a totally different style, and let’s be real… if Steven Tyler asks you to sing with him, who on earth is going to turn that down? That’s a once-in-a-lifetime invitation.
Aerosmith even shared a video of the performance on their Instagram page for fans to enjoy.
Just days before posting the clip, Aerosmith teased something even bigger: a reimagined version of their song “Wild Woman,” featuring both Lainey Wilson and Yungblud.
Last November, the band teamed up with British rock star Yungblud (Dominic Harrison) for an EP titled One More Time, which includes four new tracks and a revamped rendition of their classic “Back in the Saddle.”
The official Aerosmith Instagram teased the new “Wild Woman” collab with a photo of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Yungblud, along with this hint:
“A ‘Wild Woman’ feature coming soon. There was a cowgirl who loved this song so much that we had to add her on! Can you guess who?”
The post included a Charlie 1 Horse cowboy hat — the exact brand Lainey is known for wearing — and it didn’t go unnoticed that Lainey herself liked the post. While she may seem like the most unexpected addition to the trio, the idea of blending her country grit with Aerosmith’s rock edge and Yungblud’s alt-rock flair sounds incredible.
Personally? A little rock, a little country — that’s my dream combo.
