The country music community is mourning alongside singer Coffey Anderson, who revealed that his ex-wife, Criscilla Anderson, has passed away.

Criscilla, 45, died on December 2 after a long and difficult battle with colon cancer, which she had been fighting since 2019.

In a heartbreaking Instagram post, Coffey wrote,
“Criscilla embodied strength and what it means to be a fighter more than anyone I’ve ever known. Heaven gained a star today.”
He shared that before she died, she told him, “If you see a butterfly, that will be me. If you miss me, a butterfly will show up. I’ll be there.”

    Coffey continued, expressing his grief:
“We miss you already. Our hearts are shattered. Our minds are confused. Our lives will never be the same. The house feels different without you. The kids are strong — we did well with them. Dance on the beaches of heaven now. No more pain, no colostomy bag, no neuropathy, no chemo, no radiation. And you can eat all the dessert you want with no calories.”

He ended with a devastating final message:
“I’m glad you get to meet the two babies we lost … I love you more. 143. #cancersucks.”

Criscilla and Coffey became widely known through their 2020 Netflix reality series “Country Ever After.” Criscilla was a talented hip-hop dancer before her illness.

A close friend, Lindsey, had been regularly updating supporters on social media as Criscilla’s health declined. In November, she shared the difficult news that Criscilla had received a terminal prognosis, calling her “the strongest human I’ve ever met.”

She reminded followers that doctors originally gave Criscilla two years to live — and yet she fought for seven, defying every expectation through pure determination and grace.

At the time, Lindsey also shared that Criscilla had been hospitalized due to cancerous fluid around her heart and a stroke.

On Tuesday, Lindsey posted a final message — Criscilla’s own farewell letter.

    Lindsey wrote,
“My heart is broken to share this. I promised Criscilla I would walk with her through this journey whenever she couldn’t stand on her own, and it was the greatest honor of my life to be with her until the very end.”

    Then she shared Criscilla’s words:

    “My sweet community,
If you’re reading this, I’ve finally slipped into the arms of Jesus — peacefully and surrounded by love. Please don’t stay in the darkness of this moment. I fought hard and I loved deeply. I am not gone. I’m home.”

Criscilla wrote tender messages for each of her children:

    • Ethan — “You made me a mother. I’m still beside you.”

    • Savannah — “My bonus girl, a gift God knew I needed.”

    • Emmarie — “My Jesus-loving dancer, keep dancing through every season.”

    • Everleigh — “My bright spark, chase your dreams fearlessly.”

    She added,
“When something feels warm or familiar, when a moment seems too beautiful to be coincidence — that’s me. I’m still mothering you. I’m still yours. #everybutterfly.”

To her close friends, she wrote:

“Thank you for lifting me when I couldn’t stand, for the tears, the laughter, the appointments, the love. You were God’s hands in my life.”

    To her family, she said:

“Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Stay close to each other — my love is wrapped around you.”

She also left a message for Lindsey:
“Thank you for capturing my life so beautifully. No more Photoshop — Jesus just gave this girl wings!”

    Criscilla ended with:
“Be gentle with each other. Hold my children tight. Remember — heaven isn’t as far away as it feels. I love you all. Always. – Criscilla.”

Previous ArticleIt hit like lightning. One second the room was silent — the next, Garth Brooks was on his feet, eyes glassy, breath caught, and the word tore out of him before he could stop it: “DAMN!!” It wasn’t applause. It wasn’t praise. It was shock. Awe. A man witnessing his own life story being handed back to him with more emotion than he ever expected. Kelly Clarkson had stepped into the Kennedy Center Honors spotlight and turned “The Dance” into something almost unbearably intimate. Her voice carried the weight of battles she’d survived, love she’d lost, and memories she still couldn’t quite escape. Every tremble, every quiet breath, every soaring note felt like a confession — raw and trembling, yet impossibly strong. Garth watched it all unfold with the expression of someone being broken open in the best and most painful way. Kelly didn’t just honor him… she reached him. She reached everyone. The room wasn’t filled with sound — it was filled with feeling, thick and heavy and impossible to ignore.
