Reba McEntire Drops Surprise Live Video of “Trailblazer” with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson

Reba McEntire gave fans a special gift with the surprise release of a live performance video for “Trailblazer,” her powerful collaboration with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson. The footage was captured during McEntire’s sold-out set at the first-ever Music City Rodeo earlier this summer.

“A couple of weeks ago at the ACM Awards, we got to premiere a brand-new song that we’re very, very proud of…I got to sing it with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson,” McEntire told the cheering crowd. Then, with a grin, she teased, “Wouldn’t it be great if they were here tonight?” The arena erupted in applause as Lambert and Wilson suddenly joined her on stage. The three powerhouse women closed the performance hand-in-hand, symbolizing three generations united in carrying country music forward.

    A Song Honoring Country’s Pioneers

Written by Lambert, Wilson, and Brandy Clark, and produced by McEntire with Tony Brown, “Trailblazer” pays homage to the women of country who paved the way for future voices. The collaboration was sparked by McEntire herself, who encouraged a conversation among Lambert, Wilson, and Clark about the legacy of female trailblazers in the genre.

Lainey Wilson later shared how personal the project was for her. “So Reba had the idea to try to do a song together and me and Miranda and Brandy Clark got together and we just started talking about the history of country music and how the females have stuck together and blazed those trails…done whatever they could to help the next person up,” she explained backstage at the ACM Awards.

    Passing the Torch

Wilson credited both Lambert and McEntire for lifting her up in her career. “I owe it to them. I do. They’ve been willing to share wisdom with me, encourage me, and that’s what it’s about. This song isn’t just for the music industry—it’s for anyone who feels like they’re paving paths for others.”

The trio first debuted “Trailblazer” at the ACM Awards before releasing it to streaming platforms, where it quickly made waves. In its first week, the anthem racked up 2.6 million on-demand streams, marking a career-best streaming debut for McEntire.
