💃🔥 Derek Hough Lands $13.5 Million Netflix Deal for 7-Episode Dance Docu-Series Showcasing His Remarkable Journey
The Emmy-winning choreographer and Dancing With the Stars icon is turning his life into must-see TV with a brand-new Netflix project.
A Landmark Deal
Netflix has inked a $13.5 million agreement with Derek Hough to produce a seven-part docu-series charting his path from small-town beginnings in Utah to becoming one of the world’s most celebrated dancers. The show will weave together exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, career-defining performances, and untold stories that reveal how Hough transformed modern dance on both stage and screen.
From the Ballroom to the World
At 39, Hough has dazzled audiences for decades with his electrifying choreography, sharp technique, and six DWTS Mirrorball trophies. The series will spotlight not just his greatest triumphs, but also the personal challenges and sacrifices that fueled his extraordinary career.
Inside the Series
Each episode will highlight a different chapter in Hough’s life: his early training years in London, his groundbreaking Emmy-winning routines on Dancing With the Stars, his acclaimed live tours, and viral performances that redefined the art of dance for a new generation. Fans can also expect intimate reflections on his bond with sister Julianne Hough, his marriage to Hayley Erbert, and the moments that tested his resilience.
Derek Speaks
“This project is more than a series — it’s my life in motion,” Hough shared in a statement. “Dance has always been my language when words weren’t enough, and I’m thrilled to finally tell that story with Netflix.”
Coming Soon
The yet-untitled docu-series is set to begin production later this year, with a tentative premiere date in 2026. Already being hailed as a “love letter to dance,” it’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated collaborations between Netflix and a performer in recent memory.
