When you’re in the spotlight, you’re bound to hear your fair share of wild rumors.
Riley Green has seen it all—fans tossing bras and panties on stage, constant curiosity about his love life (we’re guilty of that too), and plenty of off-the-wall moments. But over the weekend, he revealed what just might be the craziest rumor he’s ever heard about himself.
Green was performing at Watershed Festival in George, Washington, wowing the crowd with his set and even surprising them with a Zach Top duet of Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” Offstage, he chatted with media outlets, answering the kind of fun, personal questions that let fans see the person behind the music.
In an interview with Gabe Mercer from The Seattle Wolf, Green was asked about the most outrageous rumor he’d heard. His answer didn’t disappoint.
“This guy came up at a meet-and-greet in Canada with a picture of someone he thought was me. He swore I’d tried to hit on his mom at Kid Rock’s bar. There’s even a TikTok about it. But it wasn’t me in the picture—he was just so convinced.”
When Mercer asked if the guy was upset about it, Green laughed:
“No, he was actually happy—like he was one step away from calling me Dad.”

Let’s be honest, plenty of people would gladly call Riley Green “Dad” (and if you’re missing the joke, just add ‘dy’ to the end of that).
Green even shared a video of the exchange on TikTok last year. In it, he tells the fan it wasn’t him, and the guy quickly looks embarrassed. When Green shows the fan’s phone to his videographer, the only real similarity was the hair color and beard.
Flattering? Maybe. But this wasn’t Riley Green—it was more like Wiley Creen.
