    • “A FLEETING REMARK — BUT THE ENTIRE STAGE OF PRIVATE LIFE LIGHTS UP.” Under the flashing lights of the cameras and the sound of rolling suitcases on the cold stone floor of LAX, Rick Springfield emerged as if he had just been pulled onto an impromptu Hollywood stage. No intro music, no script, he delivered a short but sharp statement, echoing through the noisy space like a guitar note cutting through the silence. That moment suddenly transformed into a post-divorce monologue, where Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban — though absent — were still placed under an invisible spotlight. While the legal documents coldly closed with numbers and clauses, that advice carried the raw rhythm of rock and roll: frank, bold, and unvarnished. The crowd stopped, the cameras held their frames, and the statement spread like a controversial chorus. Not an official performance, but it was a moment when the stage lit up — where a brief remark was enough to stir up all of Hollywood.

Post Malone Breaks Down the ‘Mind-Blowing’ Moment That Changed His Life Forever and It Involves a Dead Rock Legend and a Terrified Backstage Encounter.

Post Malone Reflects on Iconic Ozzy Osbourne Collaboration: “It’s Absolutely Mind-Blowing”

Long before his pivot to country with 2024’s F-1 Trillion, Post Malone delivered one of the most surprising and powerful rock-rap crossovers of the decade with “Take What You Want” — a 2019 collaboration featuring none other than Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott.

Featured as the ninth track on Post’s genre-blending album Hollywood’s Bleeding, “Take What You Want” marked a rare return to the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 for the Prince of Darkness. Peaking at #8, the song became Ozzy’s first Top 10 hit in over 30 years and has since gone 2x Platinum.

    A Meeting Post Never Forgot
In Post Malone: Runaway, his 2022 concert film, Post revealed that the moment he finally met Ozzy backstage at The Forum in Los Angeles — after the song had already been released — was more nerve-wracking than stepping on stage together.

“I was nervous meeting him. Not as much performing…meeting him is terrifying,” Post admitted. “Because, you know, what the f*** do you say to Ozzy Osbourne? ‘I like your pants?’ You have no idea what the f*** to say to him.”

Despite recording their parts separately, their performance at The Forum became an unforgettable display of cross-generational power. The unlikely pairing of Post’s raspy emo-trap tone, Travis Scott’s flow, and Ozzy’s iconic, haunting vocals fused into something raw and otherworldly.

    A Legacy Cemented — Twice
Ozzy clearly felt the same about their creative chemistry. He included “Take What You Want” as a bonus track on his 2020 album Ordinary Man, alongside a second Post collaboration titled “It’s a Raid” — a chaotic, high-speed punk anthem that showed Ozzy hadn’t lost his edge.

For Post Malone, the experience remains surreal.

“It’s absolutely f****** mind-blowing… being able to work with one of the biggest dudes in f****** rock and roll history.”

    Remembering Ozzy, Through the Music
In the days following Ozzy Osbourne’s passing on July 22, 2025, clips of Post’s tribute have resurfaced — a testament to how far-reaching the rock legend’s influence was, even among artists raised on hip-hop and pop.

What started as an unexpected studio experiment became a career milestone for Post and a late-career high note for Ozzy.

In the end, “Take What You Want” wasn’t just a single — it was a generational handshake between two rebels who understood pain, power, and performance.

And for Post Malone, it will forever be “mind-blowing” to have stood in the same shadow as a true legend.
