Riley Green Surprises Fans With Acoustic EP ‘Midtown Sessions’

Riley Green treated fans to an unexpected gift on Friday with the release of his new acoustic project, Midtown Sessions.

The five-track EP showcases stripped-down versions of some of his most beloved songs, including solo-penned favorites like “Worst Way” and “Jesus Saves,” the crowd-pleaser “Change My Mind,” and a brand-new song titled “Bartender In Destin.”

Also included is a heartfelt acoustic cover of Tim McGraw’s “The Cowboy In Me.” It’s not Green’s first nod to McGraw—his 2023 album Ain’t My Last Rodeo featured a rendition of “Damn Country Music,” originally the title track of McGraw’s 2015 release.

Rooted in his love for ‘90s country, the EP strips the songs to their core, putting the focus on Green’s signature Southern vocals and honest lyrics.

“I’ve always been a fan of acoustic takes on songs, so I cut a few just like I wrote them—for y’all,” Green shared.

    Midtown Sessions Tracklist:

Change My Mind (Riley Green, Erik Dylan, Randy Montana)

    Worst Way (Riley Green)

    Jesus Saves (Riley Green)

Cowboy In Me (Al Anderson, Jeffery Steele, Craig Wiseman)

Bartender In Destin (Sam Banks, Nick Walsh)

Midtown Sessions comes on the heels of Green’s full-length record Don’t Mind If I Do, released last October. The album’s title track, featuring Ella Langley, is set to hit country radio on July 21.

Currently, Green is on the road for his Damn Country Music Tour, which launched earlier this year in Canada and continues through November, with stops across the U.S., the U.K., and Ireland. Highlights include performances in New York, Chicago, London, and at iconic venues like Red Rocks and The Rooftop at Pier 17.

On November 22, Green will also host the second annual Duckman Jam, bringing together Jamey Johnson, Drake White, and Lauren Watkins for a night of music and camaraderie.

    Upcoming Tour Dates:

    Highlights include:

July 13, 2025 – Chicago, IL – Windy City Smokeout

July 25, 2025 – Boston, MA – MGM Music Hall at Fenway

    August 9, 2025 – Birmingham, AL – Coca-Cola Amphitheater

September 10-16, 2025 – UK tour with shows in London, Manchester, and Glasgow

November 22, 2025 – Little Rock, AR – Simmons Bank Arena (Duckman Jam)

December 12–13, 2025 – Las Vegas, NV – Resorts World

May 30, 2026 – Panama City Beach, FL – Gulf Coast Jam

Special guests on the tour include Ella Langley, Vincent Mason, Jamey Johnson, Drake White, Lauren Watkins, and more.

With Midtown Sessions, Green proves that sometimes less is more—just a voice, a guitar, and songs that hit straight to the heart.

Previous ArticleKane Brown took to the AMAs stage as a five-time winner, but what he brought to the audience next was a performance that was a culmination of emotion and energy. He opened by honoring Alan Jackson with a stunning version of “Drive (For Daddy Gene),” which brought tears to the eyes of longtime country music fans and earned praise from country legend Brad Paisley. And the song’s creator himself was moved to tears
Next Article Helen Cornelius died at 83, and before the country music world could even process the loss, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton performed an emotional live duet that brought the audience to tears. The song was Cornelius’ signature hit, “I Don’t Want to Have to Marry You,” and hearing Reba and Dolly perform it in front of a hushed crowd turned grief into collective awe. Reba opened with restrained grief, Dolly followed with unwavering tenderness, and they harmonized as if whispering directly into Helen’s memory.
