Kane Brown Honors Alan Jackson and Delivers High-Energy Set at the AMAs 50th Anniversary Special

Kane Brown brought both heart and energy to the stage during Sunday night’s American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special with a memorable two-song performance.

The five-time AMA winner first paid tribute to country legend Alan Jackson by performing one of his most beloved hits, “Drive (For Daddy Gene).” Released in 2002, the song remains a fan favorite and showcases the emotional storytelling that defines Jackson’s legacy.

Brown then turned up the tempo with a vibrant rendition of his latest hit, “Miles On It.” As confetti rained down from the ceiling, the crowd was treated to a dynamic performance of the upbeat track, which features DJ and producer Marshmello. The song, a follow-up to Brown’s 11th chart-topping single, is quickly climbing toward the top of the Mediabase Country Airplay chart.

Introducing Brown to the stage was none other than Brad Paisley, who fondly recalled inviting Kane to perform with him at his first-ever awards show.

“I’m so proud to see the superstar that he’s become,” Paisley said. “Here to sing a classic by the great Alan Jackson and a big hit of his own, my good friend, Mr. Kane Brown!”

Backstage, Brown shared how grateful he felt to be part of the celebration.

“The AMAs have always been good to me. I think I’ve won my most awards here, so I love the AMAs and I’m so glad they invited me back,” he said.

The 50th Anniversary Special was a tribute to some of music’s most iconic moments over the past five decades. Alongside Brown’s set, the evening featured performances from Brad Paisley, Jennifer Hudson, Nelly, Stray Kids, and others. Special appearances from stars like Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Cedric The Entertainer, Samuel L. Jackson, and Smokey Robinson added to the night’s celebratory atmosphere.

Following the close of his In The Air Tour—which wrapped with a massive show at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas—Brown is now taking a well-earned break with his family. He and his wife recently shared vacation photos from the beach in Florida, enjoying time with their three children.

Though he hasn’t shared full details yet, fans can look forward to new music on the horizon. Brown is currently working on a new album, which will follow his 2022 project Different Man. That album featured a string of hits including “Thank God,” “Bury Me In Georgia,” “One Mississippi,” and a duet with Blake Shelton on the title track.

Brown has teased snippets of new songs on Instagram, but a release date and title for the album are still under wraps. For now, fans can savor his AMA performance—and look forward to what comes next.
