Randy White, Husband of Country Singer Lorrie Morgan, Dies at 72

Lorrie Morgan is mourning the loss of her husband of nearly 15 years, Randy White, who passed away early Sunday morning, June 1, at the age of 72.

Born on May 15, 1953, Randy attended Volunteer State Community College and later built a successful landscaping business. He and Lorrie were married in a beachside ceremony in September 2010, forming a close-knit blended family with six children between them.

In 2024, Lorrie revealed that Randy had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. Earlier this year, his condition worsened, leading to hospitalizations that prompted Lorrie to cancel several performances. Her longtime friend Pam Tillis filled in for her on tour with Alabama.

Following his passing, Lorrie’s manager Tony Conway shared a statement with PEOPLE on her behalf:

“Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”

Lorrie also posted the message on her Facebook page, along with a heartfelt photo of the couple at the Grand Ole Opry.

Her son, Jesse Keith Whitley — whose father was the late country legend Keith Whitley — shared his own emotional tribute to Randy, reflecting on the positive role he played in his life over the past 15 years.

“He loved my mom and treated me and my sister like his own,” Jesse wrote. “He’s been the best grandfather to my kids, came to pick me up in tough situations without judgment, and helped guide me back to faith.”

Jesse described Randy as a gentle soul who gave love unconditionally and helped their family through many battles. He closed with:

“We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight, RanMan.”

Our deepest condolences go out to Lorrie, Jesse, and all of Randy White’s loved ones during this difficult time.
