Ella Langley Calls the 2025 ACM Awards Her “Best and Worst Day” in Country Music
For rising country star Ella Langley, the 2025 ACM Awards brought a whirlwind of emotions — marking both a career high and a deeply personal low, all in one unforgettable day.
In a recent interview with Taste of Country Nights, the “Weren’t for the Wind” singer reflected on the brightest and toughest moments she’s experienced so far in her music journey. Surprisingly, she named the same day for both.
“I’m gonna say that both of those is the same day — probably the awards show,” Langley shared, referencing the May 8 ACM Awards. “I just had a tough week that week, I know I’ve expressed that.”
Langley has been open about her ongoing struggles with mental health, describing it as a long-standing challenge within her family. She’s spoken in past interviews about the importance of being honest about emotional health — especially at times when everything on the outside may appear picture-perfect.
“Just because I might seem like I’m on top of the mountain right now, it doesn’t always feel like that,” she said.
Despite the internal struggles, Langley also described the ACM Awards as her most fulfilling moment yet. Not only did she take home five awards — more than any other artist that night — but she also performed “Kerosene” alongside country legend Miranda Lambert, a moment she called unforgettable.
“I met so many people I’ve looked up to my whole life,” Langley added. “Brooks & Dunn were sitting behind me passing popcorn back and forth — it was just crazy. And I met Reba too!”
The emotional contrast of the day left a lasting impression.
“That day is the brightest of my career, but it’s also the darkest,” she said. “It’s hard to compute those two feelings happening at the same time.”
Still, Langley feels confident that she’s on the right path and expressed a deepened connection to her faith in recent months.
“God has chose you,” she said. “I have gotten so close with Him in these past few months.”
Now riding a wave of momentum, the “You Look Like You Love Me” singer is gearing up for a packed summer, opening for Riley Green and Morgan Wallen, along with headlining performances and major festival appearances.
Langley’s story is a powerful reminder that even on the biggest days, there can be complex emotions behind the spotlight — and that vulnerability is part of the journey, too.
