A routine golf outing took an unexpected turn when footage of Donald Trump’s movements sparked widespread discussion on social media.

The U.S. President was seen playing at his Mar-a-Lago estate, but attention quickly shifted to his physical condition after a video—originally posted on Instagram and later covered by the Daily Mail on March 2, 2025—showed him stepping out of his golf cart.

In the clip, Trump, dressed in his signature golf attire—a red baseball cap, white polo shirt, and dark pants—appeared to struggle as he exited the vehicle. His right leg visibly dragged as he walked onto the course to prepare for a swing, prompting online speculation about his health.

Social media users quickly picked up on the unusual movement, with many suggesting it resembled symptoms associated with strokes. Comments flooded Instagram, with one user noting, “This happened to my uncle after he had a stroke,” while another simply stated, “That’s not normal.”

Over on X, similar concerns surfaced. One user urged viewers to “watch that right foot,” while another pointed out, “He’s dragging it like someone who has had a stroke or dementia.” Observers also noted details beyond his gait. “YES. Also, look at the right side of his face. And that bruise. Concerning [sic]…” one post read.

Despite the growing speculation, Trump’s team has yet to address these concerns. The video, however, continues to circulate widely, fueling ongoing debate about the president’s physical condition.

This isn’t the first time Trump’s health has made headlines. Just days before, on February 24, 2025, photos of him meeting French President Emmanuel Macron showed a noticeable bruise on the back of his right hand. Social media users quickly zeroed in on the discoloration, questioning its cause.

One user noted, “Scrolling through Getty and saw a huge bruise on Trump’s hand today,” while another wondered, “Could it be from a golf injury? Or maybe an IV?” Others speculated that the bruise had been visible for weeks, raising further concerns.

Amid the online chatter, the White House dismissed any health worries. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, “President Trump is a man of the people. He’s constantly working, shaking hands all day, every day—that’s where the bruises come from.”

Wire service photos confirmed Trump had displayed similar bruising in August and November 2024. During that period, he told Time magazine that frequent handshakes were to blame.

In December 2024, during an NBC interview, Trump mentioned plans to release his full medical report, though he has yet to follow through. During the 2024 campaign, a group of doctors speculated on his fitness for office, noting his age—he is now 78—could bring cognitive changes affecting his ability to handle complex situations.

The last time Trump publicly shared a medical report was in 2023, when his physician, Dr. Bruce Aronwald, described his health as “excellent.” Aronwald’s report stated that all physical, cognitive, and cardiovascular tests were normal, and that Trump had lost weight due to improved diet and exercise.

While presidential candidates typically release their health records, there is no legal requirement for Trump to do so. Political science professor Jeff Gulati noted that his repeated refusal to disclose them has carried little consequence, making it unlikely he will change his approach.

Now, as the 47th U.S. president, Trump is on track to become the oldest person to ever hold the office by the end of his term—fueling ongoing questions about his health and ability to serve.
