Barry Manilow has solidified his status as a Las Vegas legend by surpassing Elvis Presley’s record for the most shows performed at the Westgate Resort & Casino. The iconic singer celebrated his 637th show at the venue on September 23, marking a milestone in his illustrious career.

To commemorate the occasion and pay homage to The King of Rock and Roll, Manilow generously donated all proceeds from the concert to several charities in Presley’s honor. Additionally, he treated the audience to covers of some of Presley’s most beloved hits, making the night a memorable tribute to a music icon.

Presley’s residency at the venue, then known as the International Hotel, began in 1969 and spanned 636 shows until 1976. However, his tragic passing in 1977 cut short what was then a record-setting run of performances.

Manilow’s connection with the Las Vegas scene dates back to 1985 when he first graced the stage at the Las Vegas Hilton, now the Westgate. After a hiatus, he returned in 2005 for an extended residency, captivating audiences with his timeless music until 2009. In 2018, Manilow resumed his Las Vegas residency, culminating in his remarkable achievement of surpassing Presley’s record.

Reflecting on the significance of his accomplishment, Manilow expressed humility and admiration for Presley’s influence on music history. Despite their differing styles, Manilow acknowledged Presley’s groundbreaking contributions to the industry.

While Manilow has now made history at the Westgate, he shows no signs of slowing down. With his sights set on surpassing Donny and Marie Osmond’s impressive record of 1,730 shows, Manilow remains dedicated to his craft and committed to delivering unforgettable performances to his fans.

As Manilow continues to captivate audiences with his enduring talent, his legacy in Las Vegas and beyond only continues to grow, solidifying his place among the entertainment elite.
