Riley Green Quietly Stockpiled 20 Songs And His Next Album May Be Closer Than Fans Think

Riley Green Says He Has 17–20 Songs Ready For His Next Album

Riley Green isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

The Alabama native recently revealed that fans could be getting new music sooner rather than later, sharing that he already has a full album’s worth — and then some — ready to go. In a conversation with Holler, Green said he’s currently sitting on “probably 17 to 20 songs” that he feels confident putting on his next record.

“It’s a really cool time to have so many eyes and ears on you,” Green said, referencing the surge in momentum he’s enjoyed over the past year.

That wave began with his viral, chart-topping duet with Ella Langley, “You Look Like You Love Me,” which arrived roughly a year before his most recent album, Don’t Mind If I Do. The project continued his hot streak, delivering fan favorites like the title track, another Langley collaboration, and the sultry breakout hit “Worst Way.”

    Writing Never Stops

Despite the album’s success, Green says there was never a moment where he felt comfortable easing up creatively.

“I never really stopped writing,” he explained. “For me, it’s not like you have an album like Don’t Mind If I Do that does well, and you go, ‘Okay, I can relax.’ It’s more the opposite.”

When things are clicking, Green feels compelled to keep going.

“Things are going really well, and I want to go write more songs,” he added.

That urgency has long been part of his approach. Green admits that when he finishes a song he loves, it’s hard to keep it to himself.

“When I write a song, I’m excited about it, and I want to share it,” he said. “Often, I put the whole song out there. Sometimes it’s just a clip. But for me, it’s about making the most of it while people are listening — and my audience has never been bigger than it is right now.”

Pushing the Edges Without Losing Himself

Green recently shipped his latest single, “Change My Mind,” to country radio, and while more music is clearly on the way, he says he doesn’t feel pressure to chase past successes.

Instead, he feels motivated to evolve.

“As a songwriter, I’ve certainly got my lane,” Green said. “There’s a theme that I like to write from. But to continue to have a career that grows, you’ve got to push the envelope a little bit and get outside your comfort zone.”

That mindset paid off with “Worst Way,” which marked a subtle but noticeable shift in tone — and became one of his biggest songs to date.

“It’s a fine line to stay true to yourself and still do something a little different,” he said. “That was my attempt at that, and it worked pretty well for me.”

Green hopes to strike that same balance on his next album.

New Music Could Arrive This Spring

Back in late 2025, Green hinted that fans might hear new material around the launch of his Cowboy As It Gets Tour, which kicks off in April.

“We’re going to be playing a lot of the songs that got us here,” he said, “some brand-new songs off the last album, and hopefully putting out some new music pretty soon that we’ll be playing live.”

Produced by Live Nation, the Cowboy As It Gets Tour launches April 16 at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi, and will roll through arenas and amphitheaters across the U.S.

The tour features Justin Moore as direct support, with Drake White, Mackenzie Carpenter, Zach John King, Hannah McFarland, and Adam Hood appearing on select dates.

With a growing fanbase, a full batch of new songs ready, and no signs of creative burnout, Riley Green looks poised to keep his momentum rolling straight into his next era.
