Maggie Baugh’s Dad Breaks His Silence
As Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s divorce continues to dominate Nashville headlines, rumors began swirling around Urban’s 25-year-old guitarist, Maggie Baugh. Speculation ramped up after a viral performance where Urban swapped a lyric in “The Fighter,” singing directly to Maggie: “Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Fans clipped the moment, along with other stage gestures, and claimed Urban’s body language hinted at something more. The gossip grew louder when Kidman filed divorce papers days later.
But on October 1, Maggie’s father, Chuck Baugh, shut it down with two blunt words: “NO. Just No.”
A Professional Relationship, Not a Romance
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Chuck doubled down:
“I don’t have any information regarding that, aside from the fact that she plays guitar for him.”
He described their connection as purely musical, adding, “It’s more of a collaboration than a romantic relationship.” Chuck even recalled meeting Urban backstage in Las Vegas, noting their interactions were entirely professional.
The Rumors’ Timing
The speculation came at a sensitive moment. On September 30, Kidman filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Reports suggest Urban had already moved out earlier in the summer, with some insiders hinting at a “midlife crisis” after he fired his longtime band earlier this year.
With Urban’s personal life in flux, some Nashville insiders pinned Maggie as the so-called “younger woman in the business.” Being young, brunette, and already in his touring band made her an easy target for gossip.
Maggie Baugh’s Rising Career
Despite the noise, Maggie’s own star is quickly rising. She moved to Nashville at 18, built a massive following on TikTok with her “Finish the Lick” series, and released her debut album Dear Me in 2023 — a raw collection tackling bullying and mental health.
By 2024, she was performing with Urban at the CMT Music Awards, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, before officially joining his band full-time. This fall, she headlines her Entertainers Heart World Tour with a second studio album on the way.
A Father’s Final Word
For Chuck Baugh, the rumors don’t hold weight. To him, his daughter’s relationship with Urban is nothing but professional:
“It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing.”
And in a city where gossip often drowns out the music, his answer is simple, sharp, and final.
