Nicole Kidman Files for Divorce from Keith Urban After 19 Years of Marriage
Hollywood power couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are officially parting ways after nearly two decades together. The Daily Mail confirmed Tuesday that the Oscar-winning actress, 58, has filed for divorce from the country superstar, 57, citing irreconcilable differences.
Shock Split After Nearly Two Decades
Kidman and Urban, who wed in 2006 in a traditional Catholic ceremony in Sydney, share two daughters together — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
According to insiders, the split has left Kidman “blindsided,” while Urban is reportedly already moving on. A Nashville music industry source claimed the singer has been linked to a younger woman in the business, fueling speculation within the country music world.
At present, Urban is said to be renting his own home in Nashville and showing no signs of reconciliation. Kidman and their daughters remain at the couple’s $4 million estate in the city.
Cracks Beneath the Surface
While the announcement comes as a surprise to many fans, signs of strain had surfaced earlier in the year. In July, Urban abruptly exited a radio interview after being asked about Kidman’s steamy on-screen roles in Babygirl and A Family Affair, both of which saw her in intimate scenes with younger co-stars.
Kidman herself hinted at imperfection in their marriage during the promotion of her Netflix series The Perfect Couple, remarking: “There’s no perfect anything… anything that’s presented as perfect, forget it.”
The couple had last been spotted together publicly in June, attending a FIFA World Cup match in Nashville.

Only weeks before filing, Kidman marked the couple’s 19th wedding anniversary with a heartfelt black-and-white photo posted on Instagram. The picture, showing the actress and Urban sharing an intimate backstage moment, was captioned simply: “Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban.”
Urban responded with a single red heart emoji. At the time, fans saw it as another public declaration of their enduring bond — but behind the scenes, the marriage was unraveling.
A Relationship Built on Resilience
The pair’s love story had long been celebrated for its resilience. Shortly after their 2006 wedding, Urban entered rehab for addiction struggles that threatened to derail their marriage. Kidman stood by his side, a commitment he publicly praised last year during her AFI Life Achievement Award tribute.
“Nic pushed through every negative voice — even some of her own — and she chose love,” Urban recalled, crediting her with helping him achieve sobriety.

For Kidman, this marks her second high-profile divorce. She was previously married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001, during which the pair adopted two children, Isabella and Connor.
Urban, meanwhile, continues his High and Alive tour across the U.S. and Canada, with a performance scheduled in Hershey, Pennsylvania later this week.
Despite the end of their marriage, sources close to the couple suggest that while divorce proceedings are underway, a reconciliation “is not entirely off the table” — though for now, both appear to be moving in different directions.
