Kenny Chesney promised surprises during his first-ever Las Vegas residency at the Sphere — and he’s definitely delivering. After already inviting Kelsea Ballerini and Grace Potter to join him during opening shows, Chesney surprised fans again on Wednesday night by welcoming Megan Moroney, his new duet partner and former tour mate.
Moroney hit the stage in a cut-off Chesney shirt, jean shorts, and cowboy boots, joining him for a four-song set. Together, they debuted their duet “You Had To Be There” and performed Chesney’s hits “All The Pretty Girls” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” Chesney also gave Moroney the spotlight to sing her own rising single, “Am I Okay?”

Chesney praised her energy afterward: “No one has more fun onstage than Megan Moroney. She makes everybody want to share in the joy she’s clearly feeling. Even I want to — and don’t always — maintain that level of fun. She just brings it.”
The night’s crowd also included some big names, like Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith. Chesney said the midweek show felt more like a Saturday night, crediting the energy of both Moroney and the unique Sphere experience.
The residency puts Chesney alongside icons such as U2, Dead & Company, the Eagles, and Phish, who have also performed at the 17,600-seat venue. Known for its immersive technology, the Sphere has left Chesney in awe: “I knew this was going to be incredible, but I had no idea how awesome the experience could actually be. More than the visuals and sound, it’s about sharing the stage with people I love — including No Shoes Nation, who came to Vegas to be part of this moment.”
Tickets for the residency are still available at KennyChesney.com, with VIP hotel and concert packages offered through Vibee, including premium seating, exclusive merch, pool parties, and two-night stays at top Las Vegas resorts.
