Randy Travis was celebrated at Wednesday night’s ACM Honors in Nashville, where he received the 2025 ACM Milestone Award, presented in memory of longtime ACM Awards director Gene Weed. The award recognized Travis for his “unprecedented or outstanding achievement in the field of Country Music during the preceding year,” as noted by the Academy of Country Music.
In May 2024, Travis made history when he released “Where That Came From” using AI technology to recreate his pre-stroke voice—becoming the first country artist to release new music with AI assistance, a decade after his life-altering stroke.
During the ceremony at The Pinnacle, Jamey Johnson honored Travis with a heartfelt performance of “Three Wooden Crosses.” He then presented Randy and his wife, Mary Travis, with the Milestone Award. As Randy approached the stage, the audience rose in a lengthy standing ovation, showing their deep respect and affection for the country legend.
Earlier in the evening, the couple walked the red carpet, where Mary Travis spoke about the significance of the honor. She explained that the ACMs had been supporting Randy since the beginning of his career, making the recognition especially meaningful. When asked how he felt, Randy smiled broadly and nodded, with Mary adding, “He’s so grateful. … To see it come full circle after all these years means so much to him.”
