    • “A FLEETING REMARK — BUT THE ENTIRE STAGE OF PRIVATE LIFE LIGHTS UP.” Under the flashing lights of the cameras and the sound of rolling suitcases on the cold stone floor of LAX, Rick Springfield emerged as if he had just been pulled onto an impromptu Hollywood stage. No intro music, no script, he delivered a short but sharp statement, echoing through the noisy space like a guitar note cutting through the silence. That moment suddenly transformed into a post-divorce monologue, where Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban — though absent — were still placed under an invisible spotlight. While the legal documents coldly closed with numbers and clauses, that advice carried the raw rhythm of rock and roll: frank, bold, and unvarnished. The crowd stopped, the cameras held their frames, and the statement spread like a controversial chorus. Not an official performance, but it was a moment when the stage lit up — where a brief remark was enough to stir up all of Hollywood.

With Ella Langley stepping away from touring this month to focus on her health, Riley Green called on fellow rising star Dasha to help bring his fan-favorite duets to life at the Lasso Music Festival in Montréal.

The two teamed up for “Don’t Mind If I Do” and “You Look Like You Love Me,” songs Langley typically performs with Green. Since Dasha was already on the festival lineup, she became the perfect choice to step in — and the crowd loved it.

In fan-shot clips, Green kept to his classic cowboy look of jeans, button-up, and hat, while Dasha rocked low-rise bootcut jeans and a white crop top. Together, they traded lines on the clever, flirty storytelling of “You Look Like You Love Me,” with Dasha confidently embracing the role Langley usually fills. The pair leaned into the crowd’s energy, pointing their mics outward as fans belted the chorus back at them.

They also slowed things down with “Don’t Mind If I Do,” seated on stools as Green strummed his guitar. The softer performance gave space for their vocals to intertwine, and the audience swayed along. Afterward, Green asked if Dasha wanted to “do one more,” which led to another round of “You Look Like You Love Me.”

Green closed out the segment by applauding Dasha for her surprise appearance, while she thanked fans with a “love y’all” and blew a kiss before exiting. Backstage, Dasha even shared a rehearsal clip of the duo practicing their harmonies before the show. Green later dropped into the comments, praising her with, “You crushed it.”

The festival, held August 15–16 at Parc Jean-Drapeau, featured a star-studded lineup including Bailey Zimmerman, Sheryl Crow, Shaboozey, Jelly Roll, and more. Green will continue his Damn Country Music Tour through November.

Meanwhile, Ella Langley will return to the road on September 12, rejoining Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem tour before headlining her own Still Hungover Tour in October.
