Carrie Underwood’s New Hair Has the Internet Melting Down After First Public Performance Since the Big Change
Carrie Underwood Debuts Dramatic New Hairstyle
On August 8, Carrie Underwood took the stage at the Voices of America Country Music Fest in West Chester, Ohio, marking her first public performance since making a bold change to her look. The country superstar wowed the crowd during her 23-song set—not just with her vocals, but with her fresh new hair color.
Backstage, Underwood also had a memorable first-time meeting with Shaboozey, sharing on social media, “Got to meet @shaboozey last night…I’m surprised our paths haven’t ever crossed before but I’m glad they finally did!” Shaboozey replied as if checking off a bucket list moment, clearly thrilled to meet her.
Just days earlier, on August 4, Underwood revealed she had traded her signature blonde locks for her natural hair color—a shade she hadn’t seen since she was about 12 years old.
“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance,” she shared.
When she stepped out on stage with her darker hair, fans lit up social media with praise for the change:
“This color looks stunning on you! 😍😍😍”
“Gosh, didn’t even recognize you at first! The natural hair color is so beautiful. Glowing!”
“Your hair looks great! So much prettier and softer than the blonde.”
“Natural hair Carrie is it.”
“Ok the dark hair is everything 🤩🤩”
The consensus? Carrie’s return to her natural shade is a glowing success.
