Carrie Underwood Delivers Stirring A Cappella Performance at Trump’s 2025 Inauguration, Joined by Family

Country music superstar Carrie Underwood made headlines during President Donald Trump’s inauguration with a powerful, impromptu a cappella performance of “America The Beautiful.” Joined by her husband, Mike Fisher, and their 9-year-old son Isaiah, Underwood was a featured performer during the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol on Monday.

Originally set to sing with a backing track alongside the Armed Forces Chorus and the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club, Underwood experienced technical difficulties when the track failed to play. Without hesitation, she delivered the song a cappella, inviting the audience to sing along. The spontaneous moment created an unexpected feeling of unity and patriotism, quickly going viral across social media.

Following the ceremony, Carrie and her family attended the presidential inaugural luncheon, where they were spotted chatting with guests including Ivanka Trump. The trio also posed for photos with Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn and other attendees.

Underwood also participated in the 2025 Presidential Candlelight Dinner held the night before at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The formal, invitation-only event was attended by high-profile supporters and donors, with photos surfacing of Carrie mingling with guests.

Despite facing criticism for accepting the invitation to perform, Underwood remained firm in her statement of neutrality and love for her country:

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

For a star known for steering clear of political discourse, Underwood’s performance ended up serving as a rare bipartisan moment, as people across party lines joined in to sing along—proving that even in tense times, music can still bring people together.
