Ángel Salazar, widely remembered for his role as Chi Chi in the 1983 cult film *Scarface*, died at the age of 68. Salazar, who portrayed Al Pacino’s loyal sidekick in the film, “died in his sleep over the weekend at a friend’s home in Brooklyn,” according to his agent and close friend Ann Wingsong.

Salazar had a successful acting career after *Scarface*, appearing in films such as *Punchline* with Tom Hanks and reconnecting with Pacino in *Carlito’s Way*. His performances in these films demonstrated his flexibility as an actor, garnering him respect in Hollywood.

Salazar was also known for his stand-up humor, which he frequently showcased on HBO specials and *Last Comic Standing*. His humorous abilities made him a popular figure on the comedy circuit, where he delighted audiences with his quick wit and captivating performances.

Salazar has recently continued to work in the film industry, with his final parts in *The Black Caesar* and *The Gilbert Diaries: The Movie* coming in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Salazar’s passing brings an end to a wide and brilliant career in entertainment, leaving a legacy in film and humor that fans and colleagues will remember.
