Human communication involves far more than words.
A smile across the room, prolonged eye contact, a change in posture or a brief touch can communicate warmth, nervousness, reassurance or interest without anyone saying exactly what they feel.
That’s why body language is so fascinating.
It’s also why it’s so easy to misinterpret.
One gesture in particular attracts a lot of attention: someone touching your arm, shoulder or knee during a conversation.
