Discovery of Presumed Human Remains Near Titan Submersible Wreckage
The U.S. Coast Guard recently announced the discovery of “presumed human remains” in the vicinity of where the wreckage of the Titan submersible was found. CNN reports that these remains, located within the wreckage, will be sent to forensic experts for further examination.
The Tragic Incident
Last week, it was determined that all five individuals aboard the submersible had tragically perished due to a catastrophic implosion. One of the victims, 19-year-old Suleman Dawood, had conflicting accounts regarding his eagerness to join the ill-fated trip.
Although Suleman had initial fears about the journey, his aunt Azmeh revealed that he went ahead with it to share the experience with his father. He overcame his concerns and decided to embark on the adventure.
Suleman’s mother, Christine Suleman, mentioned that she did not accompany her son on his attempt to break the Guinness World Record as she wanted his father, Shahzada Suleman, to film it. Christine recalled Suleman’s enthusiasm, stating, “He said, ‘I’m going to solve the Rubik’s Cube 3,700 meters below sea at the Titanic.'”
Depictions of Implosion
Various TikTok users have created their own interpretations of the submersible’s implosion, with some being accurate and others not as precise. The movies provide a gloomy glimpse of what might have occurred on the ocean floor.

All depictions agree that the individuals on board would have been instantaneously killed, without having a chance to comprehend the events unfolding. However, it is comforting to know that those who lost loved ones can find solace in the likelihood that they did not experience pain during their final moments.

Concerns and Controversy
A video showing the rebuilt OceanGate submersible sinking and collapsing inward, similar to a can of Coke, was shared on Twitter. It illustrates the forceful nature of the implosion caused by the water pressure.
There have been speculations about the submersible’s safety and legality. The vessel was not registered with international agencies or classified by a maritime industry group due to OceanGate’s belief in the innovative design, which they thought would take years for inspectors to comprehend.
Stockton Rush, the CEO of OceanGate, who tragically lost his life during the dive, faced criticism for allegedly dismissing safety warnings. Deep sea scientist Rob McCallum shared email exchanges with Rush, expressing concerns and imploring him to prioritize caution and conservative testing.
Despite the tragedy, the OceanGate crew remains committed to locating the missing members and making every effort to save lives.
Lessons Learned
American investor Jay Bloom and his son were originally considered for the positions that ultimately went to the Dawood family. Safety concerns were raised, to which Stockton responded by comparing the risks to flying in a helicopter or scuba diving.
“While there’s obviously risk, it’s way safer than flying in a helicopter or even scuba diving,” Stockton assured. However, these claims have proven to be tragically incorrect.
