A man was swimming in the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt when disaster struck. The video was shot in Hurghada, a tourist destination. In the footage, a guy is seen fighting against a shark that is still biting him.
The man is at one point pulled underwater upside down by the shark, leaving only his legs visible above the surface. People can be heard yelling around the woman who is recording the video and she can be heard sounding really distressed.
The shark then bites him on his torso one last time before dragging him underwater.
According to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Environment, they think a tiger shark was responsible for the attack. Sadly, they revealed that the man had passed away from his wounds and the shark attack. The Russian embassy has not revealed the man’s identify, despite the fact that it has been established that he is from Russia. The embassy has established that the individual, who was born in Russia in 1999 and lived in Egypt full-time, was not a tourist.
The ministry also stated that the shark had been captured and was being examined to ascertain the cause of the unusual attack on a human. A significant portion of the beach where the event took place has been restricted to the public as a result of the fatal attack.
A diver who came at the scene shortly after the assault claimed that while others in attendance attempted to assist the victim, they were unable to reach him in time.
