New details surrounding Hayden Panettiere’s final hours have emerged, offering a clearer picture of what unfolded inside the South Carolina residence where the actress died at just 36.
A police incident report has revealed that Panettiere was not alone when emergency personnel responded to the Greenville property on August 16, 2026. Brian Hickerson, the actress’ longtime on-again, off-again partner, was there, along with his brother, Zach Hickerson.
The report also describes medication being turned over to authorities as investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the Heroes and Nashville star’s sudden death.
While the new information provides additional context, authorities have said their preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An official cause of death had not been announced at the time of the reports.
Hayden Had Arrived in South Carolina the Day Before
Panettiere reportedly traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina on Saturday, August 15, accompanied by Brian Hickerson.
The pair stayed at a rental unit at Judson Mill Lofts in Greenville. Their trip had largely remained out of the public eye until Panettiere’s death the following afternoon.
Hickerson’s presence immediately attracted attention because of his long and complicated history with the actress, which included a domestic violence case that resulted in jail time and probation.
Although reports had previously described the pair as on-again, off-again, they had remained connected over the years.
What was initially less clear was that another member of Hickerson’s family was also at the property.
