Stirring up the rumor mill again — and honestly, nobody should be surprised at this point.
Ella Langley is coming off the biggest year of her career, capped off by a massive night at the 2025 CMA Awards. Her runaway hit with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me,” swept three major categories: Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. It was the kind of clean sweep that cements an artist as one of country music’s new power players.
And ever since that duet dropped, fans have been relentlessly speculating about whether Ella and Riley were ever more than friends. Both have denied it repeatedly, insisting the connection is purely professional — and maybe it really was. But now the rumor spotlight has shifted elsewhere, thanks to a very different man: John Sansone.
If his name rings a bell, it’s because he appeared on the reality show Farmer Wants a Wife. On the show, he ended up with a woman named Claire, though they later announced their breakup earlier this summer. Sansone is a sixth-generation farmer from St. Louis, running a 170-acre operation growing soy, corn, and wheat — skills passed down from his grandfather. He also happens to be the cousin of Sophia Sansone, a member of Luke Combs’ management team who previously dated Riley Green. Yes… this entire universe is surprisingly small.
John also shared on TV that he’s in law school, suggesting he’s balancing farming with a future legal career. But it was his latest Instagram post that sent Ella Langley fans into full detective mode. In a photo carousel he uploaded yesterday, one of the slides clearly shows Ella’s dog, Crue — and in slide #7, Ella herself appears as well. The caption read, “Seein’ what sticks type post.” Subtle? Not even a little.
Ella’s comment sealed it: “Crue mannnn.”
No explanation. No denial. Just enough interaction to set the internet on fire.
The reaction was immediate. Fans flooded the comments:
“If y’all are together – I’m here for it.”
“They would be absolutely fire together.”
“Peep Ella!!! I support this relationship x100!!!!”
“Farmer wants an Ella.”
“I just saw many men fall to their knees in Cracker Barrel.”
“This is devastating.”
“I ship this.”
People also pointed out they’ve been liking each other’s posts for months and that John was spotted at a couple of her shows recently. He wasn’t seen with her at the CMA Awards last week, but that doesn’t rule out an afterparty appearance — or simply staying off-camera.
Then Ella posted her own photo dump last night… and sure enough, John appears in slide #9.
If this is a soft-launch, it’s a very Gen Z, influencer-era one — casual cameos, subtle comments, and just enough “accidental” visibility to ignite speculation without confirming anything.
Of course, they could just be friends. They could be something more. Or they could be enjoying the chaos of letting fans figure it out for themselves. Either way, this will not be the last time we hear about the Ella-John saga. Her fanbase is famously invested in her dating life, despite the fact that Ella has publicly said next to nothing about it for years.
For now, all anyone can do is watch, wait, refresh Instagram, and see what slides show up next.
And in the meantime, crank “Choosin’ Texas.”
