In her emotional video, filmed from her hospital bed, Cheplak detailed a year-long health battle that has included more than 30 heart surgeries, 40 nights in the hospital, and countless setbacks. “Every time I’ve gone down for a scan, every time the surgeon was about to start a heart surgery, we have them blast my favorite worship music,” she said. “My faith has just really kept me going through this.”
Cheplak explained that she wanted to attend Lake’s sold-out Nevada show on November 14, but since tickets were unavailable, she turned to social media for help. Her heartfelt plea encouraged viewers to tag the singer and help make her dream come true.

“Witnessing these songs live will be so healing and special for me,” she said. “Especially the line, ‘my head, heart, and hands are feeling heavy—that’s when I lift them just a little higher.’”

In a recent update, Cheplak shared that she has finally been discharged from the hospital, though she will remain on home oxygen.
