Zach Top Honors Toby Keith’s Legacy with Visit to OK Kids Korral

Rising country star Zach Top recently made a meaningful stop in Oklahoma City, visiting the OK Kids Korral, a facility founded by the late Toby Keith to support children battling cancer and their families.

    Toby Keith’s Legacy of Compassion

Though Toby Keith passed away in February 2024, his legacy of generosity continues to touch lives. The country icon founded The Toby Keith Foundation in 2006 with a mission to provide hope and comfort to children fighting cancer. One of his proudest accomplishments came in 2013 with the opening of the OK Kids Korral, a cost-free housing facility for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

The foundation describes the Korral as:

“A safe, convenient, and hopeful place for families to connect with each other and focus on the well-being of their child.”

The facility can host 16 families at a time, offering private bedrooms, shared dining and living spaces, and child-friendly play areas — all designed to make an unimaginably difficult journey a little easier.

    Zach Top’s Heartfelt Visit

Currently on his Cold Beer and Country Music Tour, Zach Top took time from his busy schedule to spend a day at the OK Kids Korral. Photos shared by the Toby Keith Foundation show the singer chatting with families, signing autographs, and even signing cowboy hats for young fans.

The Foundation expressed their gratitude with a message that read:

“We couldn’t be more thankful that Zach Top took time out of his busy schedule to visit children battling cancer at OK Kids Korral.”

Top’s gesture was a reminder that Toby Keith’s influence continues to inspire the next generation of country artists — not only in music but in heart.

The Story Behind OK Kids Korral

Toby Keith often said the Korral was built out of love — and a calling. During the facility’s grand opening in 2013, Keith shared that the inspiration came from his close friend and former guitarist Scott Webb, who tragically lost his two-year-old child to cancer.

“They went to St. Jude’s in a last-ditch effort to save their child’s life,” Keith recalled. “When they came back, they told me they didn’t need to bring anything — because St. Jude’s had everything they needed. That stuck with me. I thought, ‘We need something like that here in Oklahoma.’ It felt like a calling from God.”

From that moment, Toby poured his energy, resources, and heart into building what became one of his greatest legacies: a home away from home for families who need it most.

    Carrying the Torch Forward

By visiting the Korral, Zach Top didn’t just make a stop between shows — he honored a tradition of compassion, community, and country values that Toby Keith embodied throughout his life.

Top’s visit was a beautiful full-circle moment — a new artist paying tribute to a legend, ensuring that the kindness Toby started continues to shine as brightly as his music.
