Obama Condemns Charlie Kirk Assassination, Faces Criticism Over Response

Washington, D.C. — Former President Barack Obama condemned the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, calling for unity and offering prayers to his family. But critics quickly labeled his statement “tone deaf,” arguing it fell short of addressing the political climate surrounding the attack.

Fox News host Clay Travis accused Obama and Democrats of fueling hostility by comparing Trump supporters to extremists, claiming such rhetoric “emboldens those who see violence as justified.” Senator Elizabeth Warren pushed back, dismissing the idea that her party’s words contributed to the atmosphere: “Why don’t you start with the President?” she said.

Meanwhile, the FBI confirmed the Utah shooting was a targeted attack, with the gunman believed to have fired from a rooftop while dressed in dark clothing. Investigators are urging the public to come forward with any tips.

Former President Donald Trump directly blamed what he called “radical Left rhetoric” for creating the environment that led to Kirk’s killing, escalating the already fierce partisan fallout.
