Utah — Former First Lady Melania Trump has shared an emotional message in response to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University.

Kirk, 31, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot while addressing a crowd of about 3,000 people. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as he collapsed on stage. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was later pronounced dead. His wife, Erika, and their two young children were unharmed.
