She cracked the crowd open with raw honesty and wicked humor, firing off the now-viral line, “If Blake Shelton can do this, ANY f—ing person can do this.” People screamed, laughed, even wiped tears as she blended chaos with sweetness the way only she can. And beneath the jokes was something quieter — her first performance back after the death of her ex-husband, a night where her voice carried both grief and grit. Lauren Alaina Takes On a New Challenge: Training for a 10K Just Weeks After Becoming a Mom

Fresh off welcoming her first child, Lauren Alaina is already setting her sights on a brand-new goal. On Saturday, Sept. 6, the country star and former American Idol frontrunner revealed on Instagram that she’s been training for a 10K — just weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Beni Doll Arnold.

Dressed casually in an olive-green hoodie, Alaina explained to fans that she began training at 10 weeks postpartum. “I am training for a 10k. I started training at 10 weeks postpartum — 10k at 10 weeks,” she shared with a smile.

    Running With Family Support

Alaina said the idea came after her sister-in-law invited her to join the race. To prepare, she downloaded a beginner-friendly app designed to build endurance from “zero to six miles.” She’s been documenting her progress, sharing with fans that she wants them to keep her accountable as she works toward completing the challenge.

During a tour stop in Edgerton, Wis., Alaina used some downtime for a run while her mom, Kristy, watched Beni on the tour bus. “The baby is taking a nap, and Mom is going to hang out on the bus with her. So I’m going to do a little ‘me time,’” she joked. “I wish my ‘me time’ was getting a massage, but instead I’m going to go run.”

But new mom life quickly stepped in. Midway through her intervals, Alaina received a call from her mom that the baby needed feeding. She hit pause, returned to nurse, and then laced up again hours later. “So it’s been four hours. I fed the baby twice, and I’m going to try to run again,” she told fans, determined to finish the workout.

Jo Dee Messina Offers to Join In

Alaina captioned her post: “10k training at 10 weeks postpartum!!! I need y’all to keep me accountable, okay??? 👀 #running #10k #training.” Fans flooded the comments with encouragement, including country powerhouse Jo Dee Messina, who chimed in: “Girl!!!!! 10k??? I’m training for 5/k reindeer run in December. I’ll do that with ya!!!” To which Alaina enthusiastically replied, “I would love that!”

Life on the Road With Baby Beni

Since welcoming her daughter with husband Cam Arnold in June, Alaina has already returned to touring — with both Beni and her mom joining her on the road. She recently shared how nervous yet excited she felt about performing again as a new mom. “I was so overwhelmed with the thought of going back on the road after having my daughter. I was scared. I was excited. I was dreading it. I couldn’t wait,” she admitted. “Our newest member of the band is making our shows even better than before. I could not have done it without my momma out there taking care of us both.”

With her baby girl in tow, her mom by her side, and a new fitness challenge ahead, Lauren Alaina is proving once again that she knows how to balance ambition with family — and inspire fans every step of the way.
